Beauty cooperatives for Syrian women and girls
Based all the way in East Jordan, the Za’Atari refugee camp is home to over 79,900 refugees whom have escaped the violence of the Syrian civil war.
Our hair products were used in part of an “introduction to beauty makeup techniques” short course, which has now been taught to women in all different districts of the camp. This course has been used as a medium to help the women bond and to feel apart of a safer community.
Along with this it has also provided the women with a beauty qualification which massively increases their chance of employment within the camp. The project has been a huge success with over 70 graduates already. That’s 70 more independent and educated women!
