Margiela right here in London after an almost 4 year absence from the fashion
1 of them unfortunately. Anyway, here’s my report on this monumental show.
The show was set to the huge classic track, Shirley Bassey’s ” Big Spender” originally written for the musical Sweet Charity by Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields.
As soon as I saw the pictures from the show I could see straight away that it had Galliano written all over it, even though the setting felt very Margiela.
He opened the show with a camel suede mini dress plus there were incredible draped dresses, with elaborate headpieces, and an all-red coat with matching latex gloves.
Amongst the Galliano drama was the Margiela minimalism with an androgynous black suit and a luscious series of simple red gowns, with jean shorts making an appearance
with John proving once again that denim is couture.
